Kindergarten

I picked Avery up from school today and took her to lunch before heading to Kindergarten round up. We met some friends beforehand and carpooled over together. I think this helped her not feel so nervous. I'm so happy that she knows several friends from Preschool that will be with her next year, and several neighbors she will hopefully get to know well over the summer. I still can't believe she is going to be starting full day Kindergarten in the fall. I know she is ready! I'm ready! I couldn't be more proud of the little girl she is becoming.
And yes, she is missing 4 teeth! The other top one came out last night at church. I think Avery has a story for each tooth she has lost... 1st one kicked out by her brother, second one we have on video that a friend caught of her dancing while wiggling her tooth and her screaming with happiness that her tooth fell out, 3rd one really no story- just riding in back of car eating and it fell out, and 4th was kicked out by a friend last night at church... kids get a little wild by the end of the night.
We love you sweet Ave!

Spring Break

We closed on our house Wednesday morning, and then I headed down to Austin with the kids.
We got to spend a lot of time with Mimi, papa, and our cousins. Avery and Drew have so much fun at Mimi and Papa's house. They love jumping on the trampoline. They also both tried getting in the pool, but it was too cold. My mom, dad, and I took my kids and my niece and nephew to Sea World on Saturday. The kids had a great time. Drew sat in my lap during the shows totally mesmerized. He really liked the sesame street show. Avery enjoyed the shows as well. I think her favorite part was getting to feed the dolphins... and just being with her cousins.

We had such a fun time with our family!

whirlwind

The past month has been a whirlwind of emotions. Who knew selling/buying a home could be so stressful. Never again will we do it backwards... finding/putting an offer on a home before even having ours on the market. Thankfully, everything is working out like we hoped now... our house has sold & we've closed on it....and we got a better deal on the home we're purchasing because it didn't appraise for the contract price.
I've been reminded through this process how perfect God's plans are for us. Things didn't go exactly as we planned, but they did go as God saw perfect for us. I know that things could have gone differently and we could have ended up not getting the house, having to find an apartment, searching for a home over the spring/summer, not knowing where Avery would go to kindergarten. But as I stressed about this, I also just realized I had to let it go. We weren't going to be homeless, Avery would go to school somewhere (or I'd homeschool), and we have each other and our health and that's really all that matters.
I went by our new neighborhood elementary school this morning to see if they would allow us to register Avery for Kindergarten with our contract. They said they will! Such a relief, as I have heard that if you don't make the spring round up you are not guaranteed a spot. So we have registration tomorrow, and moving day the end of the month!
We will miss being right next to some of our dearest friends... but will still be within walking distance.
We are excited for this next chapter in our lives & can't believe Avery will be starting kindergarten!
