Well we have been doing gymnastics with a few of Avery's friends for the past 6 months & I finally remembered to take my camera! Avery has the gift of coordination & balance that this sport requires, it is in her genes:) She has learned so much the past 6 months- how to do a somersault, cartwheel (beginning steps), a seat drop on the trampoline, walk on a balance beam, swing on the bars, handstand, and much more. This class is also teaching her how to wait her turn and how to listen & follow directions!

2 year check up
We had Avery's 2 year check up yesterday morning.
Here are her stats:
weight- 24 lbs (11th%)- up from her previous 5th percentile at 18 months
height- 33 1/2 inches (40th%)
On another note- Avery has begun sleeping in her big girl bed. After a few days/nights of fighting it & adjusting to a new sleeping place she is doing great now & back to sleeping in until her normal 7:00.
We had to put a night light in her room because whenever I turn off the lamp she tells me, "mommy it's too dark." It never seemed to bother her before but I guess she is a little hesitant now sleeping in her new bed.
Still can't believe she is 2!!

Amazing
We had our 12 week appt. today. We opted to do the 12 week testing which combines a sonogram and blood work. It is just completely amazing to see the life that is growing inside me. At 8 weeks you basically see a little bean & now just 4 weeks later- a baby! With Avery we had a sonogram at 8 weeks and 20 (they did not offer this 12 week one when we were pregnant with her). By 20 you are showing & assume there is something that resembles a baby in you but at 12!!! I was in awe at the little baby moving, kicking, stretching, rolling around... it was so neat.
The first picture is the baby from the side, you can see the profile, & the second pic. is his/her little feet.
Everything looked good today so we are very thankful for that news. I am glad to be regaining some of my energy... maybe I can start back up at the gym.
The technician did give us a maybe on what the baby "might" be from what she could tell... but we will wait and share that when we find out for sure in 2 months:)

Avery turns 2! September 8th

We are so thankful for these last 2 years with Avery. She is such a sweet, loving, and affectionate little girl. She makes us laugh with her funny nature. We love you Avery Catherine!!
(the above pictures are from our drive home from the hospital after Avery was born, 1st birthday, and the last 2 are from her 2nd birthday)
Avery enjoyed her birthday weekend spending time with her family who all came down from Austin. (we missed you Uncle Alex, Aunt Su Su, Kai, Sonja, Aunt Emily and Uncle Scott!) Saturday we had a Sesame Street themed birthday party with a few of Avery's little friends. In the past Avery seemed to get a little overwhelmed with too many people but it was the perfect size & she had so much fun. The kids jumped in the bounce house & swam in the pool... and ate Elmo cupcakes:) Avery's friend Campbell and cousin Kelly helped her open her presents! Thank you to all of you who helped us celebrate Avery turning 2!

Mothers Day Out!
Avery had her first day of mother's day out today. She did great! She gave us hugs and kisses and waved goodbye when we left, didn't cry at all:) The first thing she did was put snoopy in the shopping cart. When I went to pick her up she didn't seem to want to leave until I told her mommy was leaving & asked if she wanted to come too... she of course did! She told me she colored, went on the slide, and played.
Her teachers both seem very nice. We had open house yesterday & I realized I knew a girl from my bunco group and her little boy is in Avery's class:) Avery is actually the only girl in the class. I guess at this age they
really don't care but it would be nice if there was atleast 1 other girl, but oh well. I am so proud of how well she did and so excited for her. I really think she will enjoy her teachers, friends, and school experience.
