Baby Update

I had my 40 wk appt yesterday & was dialated to a 1. I go back tomorrow to check progress. The plan is to induce Thursday if this little guy isn't here yet. Mom gets in tomorrow afternoon to keep Avery and will stay the following week :) Yay, I will need the help and am so thankful she can stay so long. Avery will enjoy having her here too and has been talking about all her family coming to see her after baby Drew is born. Her baby "Candy" already came out of her tummy so Snoopy is now a big sister. ha. She told me Dr. Macdonald took Candy out & now is going to take baby Drew out.
It is starting to feel surreal that I am about to be a mother of 2. I know it will be very life changing for us all.
I am feeling very blessed and thankful for all that God is providing for us. Babies are such wonderful miracles and I look forward to meeting this little guy in just a few days.

Spring!

I am so glad Spring is here! We love to be outdoors & the weather has been so pretty. Just in time to spend days at home in the backyard with a newborn and Avery :) We have enjoyed some of these pretty days going to the park, Dallas Arboretum, walks around the block, and playing in the backyard. Avery's favorite backyard activity right now has been swinging on her new swing set & playing in her water table. On the rainy days she has enjoyed playing at the sink with water, spoons, measuring cups, and shaving cream. Avery has been such a sweet girl lately, Philip and I have really enjoyed spending this last month together as a family of three. She continues to make us laugh and our hearts melt with her sensitive and nurturing personality. She is really missing her family lately & can't wait for everyone to come play with her when baby Drew is here.

Eating bunny ice cream from the ice cream man. We heard the ice cream truck today in the neighborhood but either missed him at our house or he didn't come down our street, so Avery and her daddy hopped on the bike & trailer and headed out to catch him. Avery has been saving money in her snoopy bank for when the ice cream man comes & was so excited to get the bunny ice cream she had been wanting. She told me, "daddy caught the ice cream man- I love my daddy."

Avery told us that Snoopy is going to be a big sister too. She says there is a baby in her tummy & her name is going to be "Candy."
Yesterday she got out her phone and called Dr. Macdonald. She said, "Hi Dr. Macdonald, are you going to take baby Drew out of mommy's tummy"... rambled on about something and then said, "o.k, o.k bye."
She talks a lot about her baby brother, let's just hope that when he really gets here she loves him as much as she talks about him :)

Little progress...

I had my 38 wk appt today. I am 1/2 centimeter dialated! Little progress is better than none I guess. I am a little nervous b/c I won't see my dr. next week to get checked because he is out of town on spring break. My next appt. is scheduled for the 23rd. Due date is 26th... wonder if I'll make it?! I just want to make it to the hospital in time, that's my biggest concern- given family history & how fast Avery came.
For now, I am cherishing these final one on one days with my sweet Avery. I kinda like that it has been rainy b/c we have been able to stay in, cuddle, play (her favorite right now is playing w/her ponies and having picnics w/her stuffed animals), read books, and watch movies. She has not quite adjusted to the time change yet & has not taken a nap the last 2 days b/c she is sleeping in until 8 or 8:30. So last night she went down at 8 and slept til 8. Fine with me as long as I can get a break and she has her rest time in her room :)
2 more weeks!!

37 weeks

I had my 37 week appt. today. He has dropped but my cervix is closed. So I guess all the contractions I have been getting lately aren't doing much :(
