Sea Life in Grapevine

Yesterday I took the kids to Grapevine's new aquarium called, Sea Life. The kids loved it. It was a little pricey, $40 for me and Avery (Drew was free) so I don't think we will go often. It was fun seeing all the creatures. I took my camera only to find out the battery was dead, so unfortunatley have no pictures. After the aquarium we ate at the Rainforest Cafe. This was a neat restaurant and the kids really liked seeing all the animals.

When we got home I had Avery make an aquarium. When Drew woke up from his nap he got to join in on some art work, and made a fish with Avery. They painted the fish with glue first and then decorated it with tissue paper. Avery also decorated the letter Ff. With all this heat, I am trying to find fun things for us to do around the house.

What's new with Avery and Drew

Drew is now 27 months and is talking so much. It's amazing how fast they start spilling out all the words they've been storing in their little brains. My favorite thing he says of course is, "i wuv you mama." I really love it when he tells me this on his own, not after I have told him.

He loves going to the pool. The pools with the zero entry seem to be the easiest with him so he can run around in the shallow end, and walk out as far as he can stand.

He loves our neighbor friends and knows all their names now. I love that we have so many kids on our street the same ages as our kids... and a bonus that we love their parents!

He also LOVES his daddy. His favorite thing to do on the weekend is yard work with Philip.

So stinkin' cute...

Avery will be 5 in September! She is enjoying the summer and all the swimming we've been doing. She is really doing well swimming. We got a season pass to Hawaiian Falls and both kids have enjoyed going.

She moved up in her gymnastics class to the "junior blue stars." The next level is "blue stars," and then they start their team levels. This was exciting for us, especially Philip since he use to compete in gymnastics, and coach a boys team. She now has class 2 days/week for an hour at a time. I love watching her!

Avery starts 5 days/week (half day)Pre-K in the fall. I'm excited for all that she'll learn. I know this will help prepare her for the long days of Kindergarten.

I've been surprised how fast the summer is going by. We have a few things planned for July, and nothing in August, so I have a feeling August and all the heat may not go by quite so fast.

We're enjoying our summer so far, and being with friends!

May and June

Where did May and June go? Once again the days are slipping by me, and I find no time for blogging... sure no one is reading anymore anyways... but that's ok I want these posts to make books for myself.:)

This past weekend we celebrated Philip by surprising him with a staycation at the Gaylord hotel in Grapevine. We had so much fun. Our favorite part being their new pool and lazy river. I think the kids enjoyed just running around the hotel the best.

Sunday morning we ate brunch at the Glass Cactus overlooking the lake.We love you Daddy!

A few weeks ago, Avery went to a friends birthday party and got to ride a pony!

Drew's 2 year stats

Drew had his 2 year check up today. He looked healthy weighing in at 28 lbs, 4 oz. and 34 inches tall. This put him around 50% for weight and 80% for height. Yay Drew!

trips!

Philip and I went to New York 2 weekends ago. Neither of us had been before so it was a neat experience. We went to Rockefeller, Central Park, Times square, the Letterman show, shopped in Soho, ate yummy pizza and connolli's in West Village, saw Memphis on Broadway (which was amazing), saw where the twin tower memorial was going up, and walked over to wall street. We enjoyed our time together walking, eating, and sleeping in!! We stayed 3 nights, and were ready to see the kiddos by the last day. They enjoyed their time with their Mimi. Thank you mom for keeping the kids so we could take this mini vacation!! This past weekend, we took a camping trip to Tyler State Park with 2 other couples and their children. We had a fun time. The weather was perfect, and the kids just enjoyed being outside playing with one another. I think we probably would have slept great too, however, Avery caught Drew's cold he was getting over, and was up coughing all night. Not to mention, my mattress kept deflating so I had to turn it on several times in the night to fill it back up. I maybe got 3 hours of sleep, maybe. So needless to say I was really glad we decided to take the kids camping, but also really glad we only stayed one night.

I will post pictures from that trip as soon as I can find my camera!

Drew turns 2! March 26th

We went to Austin for Drew's second birthday to celebrate with family and friends.

Thanks Mimi and Papa for letting us have the party at your house!

The kids didn't last long in the pool... little too chilly!

We love you Drew! What a sweet blessing you are to our family. You love life, love your sissy, and love anything car, truck, or any machine/tool that makes loud noises. Yes, you are all boy. You love to be outside. You especially like helping daddy mow the yard. You like to test your limits, and test mommy and daddy. You are coordinated just like your sister. You can be silly and goofy- especially with Avery. You are both a momma's boy and a daddy's. You have these silly moods you get in where you are very stubborn in who you want that particular moment/day. You are talking more these days. You have understood everything we say for a while now, but now we see all that processing you've been doing coming out! You like to be just like your sister and want everything she has... which can sometimes be a problem. Overall, you are a happy little guy who we love so much. Happy Birthday my sweet boy!
