Pumpkins!

Carving pumpkins with daddy...

the final product

My parents came in town last weekend. We took them to the arboretum to see all the pumpkins. It was a beautiful day! Avery and Drew love when their Mimi and Papa come in town.

This past Friday, my good friend Stacy and I, took our little ones to the Owen's Farm pumpkin patch. I had already been with Avery's class, but really wanted Drew to get to go too. He loves doing these kinds of things, and it was a special time for Stacy and I to get to spend with our "babies."

Drew and Milia... possible future girlfriend!? ;)

Stacy tried hard to get Drew to smile, but he just wasn't having it.

Cutest picture ever of Stacy and Milia!

barbie show

Avery lined up all her barbies, had pillows covering the floor, and announced that her and Drew were having a barbie show. She told Philip and I to sit on the couch and watch. They came out dressed up. Avery was a bunny, a topless one. Poor little brother was a ladybug. I don't think he minded much... as long as he's included! Avery sang little bunny foo foo... and Drew joined in when he could. :) silly kids.

Fall is here!

I went with Avery on her first field trip. We went to Owen's Farm. (a pumpkin patch in Richardson) Such sweet times with her. I can tell she's 5 now and is starting to prefer being with her friends. She still wants me around, but sat by her friends on the hayride. I'm thankful for this developing independency, but aware my days are getting shorter with her needing me so much. I did ask her if she wanted me to go on the next field trip, or if she would rather ride the bus with her friends and she said she wanted me to go. :) I'm blessed I am able to enjoy these times with her.

Here she is feeding the goats...

Doing some pumpkin/letter Pp art with Ave and Drew...

Philip took the day off yesterday. We were planning on taking the kids to the Flowermound pumpkin patch, but because of all the rain we got Sunday we were afraid it would be too wet. So instead we went to the Dallas Aquarium. We've been a few times, but hadn't been since Drew was a baby. The kids could go places like this all the time and it not get old. They love it.

Drew feeding a bird...

these fish were really neat- their eyes glowed in the dark.

jellyfish- one of ave's favorite

these were really wierd looking- called dragon horse or dragon something- can't remember

We are really enjoying the cooler weather and fall activities. We are excited to take my parents to the Dallas Arboretum next weekend when they're in town... and maybe make it over to Flowermound one weekday.

Mimi and Papa trying to get a grandchildren picture- Drew not cooperating.

These girls are so close. Avery loves having her cousin Kelly here:)

Avery turned 5 last Thursday. We made cupcakes for school Wednesday night, chocolate with pink icing and sprinkles. When she woke up Thursday we ate chocolate chip pancakes and opened presents. That evening when Philip got home from work we took the kids to Planet Pizza. They loved the bumper cars and the play area.

Saturday, we celebrated with her sweet girl friends and cousin Kelly from Austin. Mommy (and Daddy) did a lot of work preparing for the party. It turned out wonderful and the girls had a great time. My parents, Avery's mimi and Papa, also came in to celebrate. We ended the day with BBQ with the family. Avery and Kelly had so much fun together. They call each other sisters. Drew had fun playing with his cousin Christopher. Soon baby Davis will be hanging with the big boys playing cars and mowing the lawn too.:) We are so thankful for our friends and family. Thanks for helping us celebrate Avery's special day.
